Maleza sin pies ni cabeza

"Maleza sin pies ni cabeza", Sol Pipkin's second exhibition in Mexico City, is the result of her work at the El Eco Experimental Museum. The relationship with the intuitive and the presence of the body prior to language are constants in Pipkin's work, as well as his permanent reflection on the artisanal in everyday life and the relationship of man with nature as a primary reference to the creative work and the processes. In this exhibition, the space of the room plays a double role. On one hand, it exposes the works of the artist. But, in turn, the artist exposes the viewer to a space that can be walked, standing or on the ground. In this way, she brings the exhibition to an experience that transcends the visual. Works performed in unreasonable listening, rather intuitive and physical relationship with matter: branches, papier mache, bright colors of tempera, paintings made on rags and jícaras, seeds, banana peel volumes, drawings of coal and earth. Many of these works will not stand the test of time, and it does not matter. Their material existence is an excuse: the desire that gives birth to them and makes them is to remain forever in a body that was transformed by experience.
