(GOD) Missed Call | Know This Artist

Manu Muñoz’s work has as a starting point the location of the study; Cabo de Gata (Almeria), source of inspiration for his works. The artworks in the exhibition (GOD) Missed Call, form an eclectic world, where the figure is presented as the star item, sometimes transforming the nature intended to raise it to a level almost unreal and fictional. Each painting aims to be unique, not only as an object, but as part of a unique emotion, an isolated moment that the artist seeks to provoke in the spectator. It all begins when the artist points out a theme, concept, or an image capable of being idealized and thus transformed. The process of change occurs during execution on the canvas, where the pictorial act goes beyond rules or systems becoming an almost unconscious action, an act of freedom uncontrolled, but only guided by instinct. Within the exhibition (GOD) Missed Call, the representation of the human figure is shown around the battle, where different feelings or moods coexist. The other main theme of the exhibition are the birds and nature which highlights the color, within this block we find the work “Belizean Heroes” main work of art in this exhibition, a formal order indefinite trying to distance himself from the figurative, and sometimes transforming parts of an image skewing intentionally classical composition. The execution of a simple base of drawing and painting that is responsible for transmitting the ephemeral moment: A bird that looks at the viewer while watching another, raising the wings, suggests a quick escape from the scene. In the background … a fading valley, the floor is mixed with the sky and clouds in a clear intention of abstracting from nature.
