Auto Art Sale × Luo Wei: The Ongoing Script

For Immediate Press: Auto Art Sale is pleased to present the newest series works of Luo Wei, created in 2017. These works are the spatial exploration of non-identity figures and scenes that have been depicted in her two-dimensional works in 2016. More, the artist mixed varies of materials to create these new bodies of mixed medium pieces, including sculpture mud, potter clay, paper clay, acrylic, metal, ready-mades, golden foil, paint, fabric,etc The inspiration of its title The Ongoing Script originates from vocabularies, sentences, mise-en-scene, theater and non-identity figures that artist collected through her daily experience, and transform themto three dimensional sculptures without narratives and deep concerns, removing thought and concept. Some figures will be named and dialogued. For example, in "Ms.He and Qiao", there is a funny lines, "where are ants on the airplane". Such a mo lei tau and nonsensical humor dialogue, just like a still in daily life, taking over past experience and the expectation of the next moment. Luo Wei was born in 1989, Guanzhou. B.A degree from Central Academy of Fine Art. Luo Wei's Artistic Practices invlove a broad mediums, including painting, installation, sound, photography and spacing art, etc. Luo Wei explore further and in depth through these subjects and researches. Her works have been selected to exhibited internationally, such as Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, Ullens Center of Contemporary Art, K11 Art Center, Grand Palais, Times Museum and other important institutions. Meanwhile, Luo Wei expands the edge of her knowledge, exploring the relationship between spirtial and material world through crossover projects. About Auto Art Sale: Auto Art Sale is an experimental project that focuses on the affordable art market and the mass consumers. Through its self-service dealing mode, we are intended to introduce the concept of art collecting to the general public, breaking the traditional mode of art dealing and curatorial practice to explore more possibilities besides the standard in art world. This project is a deep consideration and experiment of the relationship between art and society, art and consumption. We will irregularly invite artists to create new series of works, which is open to all mediums.
