Shin Hak-chul is a representative South Korean minjung artist known for his photo collage and montage works on Korean modern and contemporary history and social injustice. Shin Hak-chul trained in oil painting and applied modernist techniques to realist themes in the 1970s to create a unique style of history painting from the 1980s.
