In de Plantage staat een groot kunstwerk in de vorm van een walvis. Stichting KunstWerkt houdt van 6 tot en met 30 maart 2025 in Art Centre Schiedam de tentoonstelling FEESTBEEST, met het werk van tien kunstenaars die hun artistieke visie geven op de viering van het feit dat Schiedam 750 jaar geleden stadsrechten kreeg. Onderdeel van de tentoonstelling is de opstelling in park de Plantage van het beeld The Whale van Atelier Van Lieshout. The Whale is een dertien meter lang en ongeveer 5000 kilogram zwaar beeld van cortenstaal dat in 2022 gemaakt is door Atelier Van Lieshout aan de Keileweg in Rotterdam.
