Annie Morris

Annie Morris is a British artist based in London. She is best known for her Stack series, begun in 2014, comprising vertically balanced spherical forms in various colors that are precariously stacked. Constructed from carved foam and layered with plaster, sand, pigment, concrete and steel, the works are often finished in vivid ultramarine, cadmium red and other saturated colours, utilizing a painterly quality. Morris also makes large oil-stick drawings and sewn textile works derived from her drawings called “thread paintings.” The artist has shown internationally at galleries and museums and is included in over a dozen permanent collections.
